ラリー・カールトンの新作はけっこうロックしてます
タイトルからしてファイアワイヤー
基本的にシンプルなバンド構成、ドラム、ベース、ギターのインストで、それにたまに入るホーンセクションがいいアクセントになっています。それぞれの楽器の音がしっかり前に出てきて主張しているのがちょっと新鮮かもなあ。ホーンはギターのリフとよくアレンジされていてこれがまた絶妙です。個人的には7曲目のワウワウとホーンがいいですねー、これはすげえファンキーっす。
Jeff Beckの年期の入ったRock魂もいつ聞いてもスゴイですが、クールに動と静を使い分けるカールトンもやっぱりすごいなと、思わせてくれるそんな一枚でありました。
finger print って曲が好きで良くきいてます。いわゆるSmoothJazz、日本ではメディアもないし、ちょい不満。
